The Last Day of the WorldI lay quietly in the tall grass, wondering why I hadn’t come out here ever before. It felt magical to be away from everything, resting in the field staring at the sky and feeling the world around me. The curtain of blue above me panned out on all sides and came swooping down to the field of gold where I rested. In such a flat area I would have anticipated breeze to be whipping past me, but the air was still, it just hung there with the finality of everything.. When I had understood what was to happen, that the world would be ending, just snuffed out like a candle tonight, I hadn’t taken it well.
